Fallow Hills

Fallow Hills

Masterton

Fallow Hills is located in North Wairarapa, just under 2 hours' drive from Wellington and about 15 minutes from Masterton.

The campsite sits on a hilltop, within a patch of pretty native bush on the farm. Picturesque trees dotted around the site provide spots of welcome shade from the bright Wairarapa sunshine.

The romantic, safari-style tent is fitted out with a queen-size bed, beautifully dressed in deluxe linen. A wood-burning stove keeps you cosy and warm, all year round. Two stylishly renovated forestry huts accompany the tent, forming a roomy camp bathroom and kitchen. An additional outdoor covered barbeque area provides a fantastic al fresco dining space.

Two deep, claw-foot baths sit side-by-side, giving you the chance to soak and relax together while you take in the sweeping 180-degree views over the rural Wairarapa countryside. The starry sky at night is breathtaking.

Fallow Hills is an utterly idyllic and restful glamping retreat. The serenity of sitting in the Adirondack chairs, cool drink in hand, native birds flitting through the surrounding bush, and watching the sun setting over the surrounding hills. It's truly tonic for the soul.

  • Your Hosts

Kim and Guy Williams, along with their children, Henry, Thomas, Priya, Zarndy and Cooper are your hosts at Fallow Hills.

'Fallow Hills' is the name of the glamping site that sits on Guy's family farm, Te Parae Station. Guy is the fifth generation of his family to farm the land. Kim works part-time as an Agribusiness Analyst.

Kim and Guy love the family history of the land they live on and treasure their responsibility as caretakers for the next generation. They decided to set up their glampsite to share their paradise with others. They liked the idea of giving town and city dwellers the opportunity to escape their busy world and experience a slice of peaceful rural life.

Fallow Hills is named for the wild Fallow Deer that roam the hills of Te Parae Station.
