We’re passionate about special places of the glamping kind – beautiful tents surrounded by nature, quirky cabins with packets of personality and secret hideaways that offer something completely and utterly unique.

We carefully curate our collection. We personally handpick each place, and work closely and collaboratively with our hosts and owners to create experiences that are original, authentic and memorable. We care about what we do - and we care about the success of the escapes in our collection.

  • How We Work

    We have developed the Canopy Camping Escapes brand, directory and bookings website. As part of Canopy Camping Escapes, you’ll be listed on our website and promoted as one of our exclusive group of quality assured luxury escapes around the country.

    You may have something existing on your property already, that you think suits the glamping accommodation genre, or you may want to start something from scratch. Whatever the case, we can work with you to develop a final product that will appeal to the market.

    Once you’re up and running, we take care of proactive marketing, bookings and enquiries.

    For every booking you get, we earn a percentage commission - you take the rest. Creating ongoing occupancy for your glamping accommodation is our responsibility - and our core business - because for us to do well, you need to do better.

  • Maximise Occupancy

    Start off with a bang. Joining our collection means you'll start getting bookings from the moment you're ready for guests.

    We have consistently high occupancy season-to-season, with many of our escapes doing well even in the shoulder and winter seasons. We have some escapes that are achieving 80 - 90% occupancy year-round. Our guests love what we do and book with us over and over again.

    With over 1.5 million visits per year to our website, over 108,000 Facebook fans, a growing Instagram following of 85,000, and 17,000+ TikTok followers, we have vibrant and engaging marketing channels to promote our escapes and drive bookings.

  • Guidance and Support

    We like to form trusting partnerships with our hosts.

    We’ll provide help and support when you’re developing your accommodation and we’re here to assist with advice. Researching and developing a glamping escape can be time-consuming. We’ve learnt from setting up our own glamping escape, plus worked closely with others in our collection as they have gone through their own setup processes.

    We know what the market is looking for, and can help you develop an experience that will delight your guests.

  • Completely Niche

    Whether you already have a quirky back-country hut or you’re creating your own magical glamping retreat, joining us means you’ll be part of a small, exclusive collection of unique, outdoor holiday places. This enables us to be extremely targeted in our marketing. When people are looking for something special, nature-filled and different, they find us.

    Joining Canopy Camping Escapes, means you won't be 'lost' amongst the plethora of accommodation options available on any other accommodation listing website.

  • Admin Assistance

    We manage all bookings, enquiries and payments on our host’s behalf. You won’t need to worry about constantly checking your emails, or processing credit card payments.

    We’ll take care of initial guest communications, and keep track of all payments for you - wrapping them up into one easy monthly payment. We provide you with a real time online booking calendar and give you training on how to use it to help with guest visits. We manage all the back end pricing and other details, leaving you to focus on the 'on the ground' guest experience.

  • Keep Costs Down

    You won't need to spend money on designing logos and promotional material, marketing costs or developing a website. You won't need to worry about setting up or paying for a payment gateway, booking calendar software or channel management fees for your escape. 

    Joining us entitles you to a comprehensive microsite within our Canopy Camping Escapes website. This also comes complete with your own camp badge which you can use as a logo or signage for your accomodation. 

    If you already have your own logo, branding and website, that's ok too. We can explain how Canopy Camping Escapes can live happily alongside your own branding.

    Canopy Camping Escapes was co-founded by Sonia Minnaar and Liz Henderson - two university friends from 'way back'. We're a proud New Zealand small business run by a team of 9 passionate glampers. All profits are made in New Zealand and stay in New Zealand. Our 'HQ' is on the beautiful Kapiti Coast.
