Fallow Lodge

Fallow Lodge

Waikato

Fallow Lodge is located in the Waikato, halfway between Hamilton and Auckland City.

The cabin is set on poles on the edge of a hill, floating above a gully. Surrounded by farmland dotted with native bush, you'll have serene views over pasture and in the distance, the Waikato River. The melodic tunes of tui, fantails, wood pigeons, and wild peacocks are music to the ears. If you're quiet enough, you may find the deer greeting you in the paddock just outside.

Venture onto the deck, where an outdoor bath awaits. What better way to unwind than taking in the view while taking a hot soak? Inside, the rustic wooden interior radiates warmth. The crackling fire and comfy armchairs add to the cosiness. In a separate room, a luxurious super-king bed has views out through the tree tops - making you feel like you're sleeping amongst the branches.

Distinctive features are dotted around the property, from sculptures in the hills to a hammock and a swing in the trees - adding character and uniqueness to every corner. Meanwhile, the resident deer gracefully graze on the hills.

  • your hosts

Your hosts at Fallow Lodge are Laura and Blake, daughter, Emilia, and furry friends, Mia and Sneak.

After many years of working in and around the Pukekawa area, Laura and Blake decided to make it their home. The family has lived on the farm since 2021. The rural community, expansive landscapes, and the tranquillity of countryside living are what they love the most.

Blake is a sculpture artist with sculptures featured around the walking trail on the property. He also owns a small earthworks business. Laura is also involved in running the business.

The name 'Fallow Lodge' is inspired by all the fallow deer gracefully grazing on the property.
