Wai Dome O Point

Wai Dome O Point

Waitomo District

***MORE PHOTOS COMING SOON***

Wai Dome O Point is 5 minutes from Waitomo township in the Waikato and just over two hours drive from Auckland. It's just a few minutes away from one of New Zealand’s most iconic natural attractions – the Waitomo Glowworm Caves.

On the same property in its own isolated spot, you'll find Wai Dome O Peak.

Perched atop a steep hill, the domes offer stunning views over rolling farmland and native bush. In the distance, you can spot the Ngaroma Hills, Mt Pureora, and even the historic Waitomo Caves Hotel.

The Dome is a spacious geodesic structure, perfectly positioned for breathtaking valley views. Inside, you'll find a comfortable queen bed, a small lounging area, and a dining table. Just outside, a few steps away, is the toilet, while the kitchen and shower facilities are housed in separate buildings nearby, all crafted from beautiful Lawson timber sourced directly from the farm.

Spend your days exploring the region's incredible attractions... and in the evening, unwind as the sky fades to pinks and purples, giving way to a starry night while the moreporks call out.

  • your hosts

Christen and Katie, along with their two young sons and Olaf the sausage dog, are your hosts at Wai Dome O Point.

The farm has been in Christen's family since the early 1900s. Christen’s father, Peter, was also heavily involved in the caving world and setting up the local museum. Now, with the land passed to Christen and Katie’s ownership, they've created a new tourism venture, Wai Dome O Point and Wai Dome O Peak.

Living in a truly stunning part of the country, with backgrounds working in tourism, it was a natural step for Katie and Christen to share what they have for guests to enjoy.

Wai Dome O is a play on the place name 'Waitomo'.
