Stoneybrook Grove

Stoneybrook Grove

Bay of Plenty

Stoneybrook Grove is just 40 minutes from Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty and 2 hours from Auckland.

Set in a spacious, sunlit clearing with a picturesque brook winding through, this glamping destination is perfect for families or groups of friends seeking a peaceful retreat.

The grove features two cosy sleeping cabins, each with a double bed and a main cabin that includes a kitchen, woodburner and a bed tucked away in the corner. All the cabins are linked by a wide two-metre deck, creating an inviting and seamless living space. A separate bathroom cabin is located just 10 metres away.

There’s so much to explore and enjoy at Stoneybrook Grove. Cool off in the stream’s swimming hole just down the hill, or take a magical evening stroll along the creek to spot glow worms.

As the day winds down, gather around the outdoor fire to share stories, enjoy delicious food, and raise a glass with loved ones.

The surrounding forest is alive with native and visiting species, including fantails, swallows, silvereyes, kingfishers, yellowhammers, kererū, tūī, and even the occasional kākā.

For outdoor fun, soak up the sun on the lawn with games like Cornhole, Giant Jenga, and croquet. Or, unwind in a swing chair by the creek with a good book. There’s also a large selection of board games and card games, such as Chess, Mangala, Monopoly, Uno, Twister, and Pictionary.

Waihī Beach is covered in stunning beaches and walking tracks. At the south end of Waihi Beach, after it turns into Ocean Beach, is the Bowentown Heads with incredible views. The Lindemann Loop Track is a fantastic 5-hour track that overlooks great bay views.

  • your hosts

Your hosts at Stoneybrook Grove are Belinda, Tessa and Frida Kahlo, the dog.

Years ago, Belinda and her daughter, Tessa, left the city to trade bright city lights for starlit nights in nature. Belinda treasures the peacefulness, trees, nearby stream, and pockets of native fauna. She works as an orchardist and a part-time factual TV producer, while Tessa is a client ambassador. They initially built a small cabin for family and friends, but it brought such joy that they decided to open it up for others to experience.
