Whispering Cove

Whispering Cove

Kenepuru Sound, Marlborough

Whispering Cove is located 1 hour from Havelock, 1 hour 30 minutes from Blenheim and just under 2 hours from Nelson in the Marlborough Region.

Hidden within Kenepuru Sound, Whispering Cove offers two escapes, Ātaahua and Tātahi, each designed to immerse you in New Zealand's lush natural surrounds. The cabins can be booked together for a group getaway or separately for your own private stay.

Native bush embraces both properties, opening to sweeping ocean views with your shared private beach just a few minutes' walk away. If you're lucky, watch dolphins arc through the waves, stingrays glide through the shallows, and gannets plunge for fish.

Ātaahua sleeps four in a spacious two-story house, perfect for groups. Ātaahua has three upstairs bedrooms. There is a master bedroom with a king-size futon-style bed and another guest room with a queen-size bed. There is also a room between the guest rooms for luggage storage. The house has two bathrooms, a kitchen, and dining and living areas with a large fireplace. Outside you will find a shower and bath, deck with BBQ, and lawn space for lazy afternoons and early evening sundowners.

Tātahi sleeps two in an intimate cabin crafted for couples or solo travellers. Its open-plan design blends bedroom, living area, and kitchen seamlessly. An outdoor bath, private deck with BBQ, and enveloping bush create your wilderness sanctuary.

Whether practising sunrise yoga on the jetty floater, swimming in crystal-clear waters off the sandy beach, kayaking around the Sounds, hiking the nearby James Vogel Track to Mistletoe Bay, or simply listening to the beautiful songs of the tui, pīwakawaka, kererū, and inquisitive weka – Whispering Cove is a place to slow down and enjoy the stillness.
