Shortlands Shed - Nobbler Creek

Shortlands Shed - Nobbler Creek

Naseby, Central Otago

** Note that the hot tub at Nobbler Creek has changed from the round-style hot tub pictured to a Stoked bath-style hot tub for two**

Shortlands Station is a 15,000-acre working high country sheep station, less than 2 hours from Dunedin and just under 2 1/2 hours from Queenstown.

'Nobbler's Creek' is the second glamping shed on Shortlands Station, along with sister shed, 'Manuka Views'.

Nobbler's Creek shed sits on the edge of a cliff, overlooking the creek with stunning 360-degree views of the surrounding hill country. It's fully enclosed - with large glass doors that open wide in the summer or provide welcome shelter for snug winter days and nights.

The interior is stylish, moody, and oozing with atmosphere. Both rooms - a luxurious double bedroom, and a separate living/kitchen area are perfectly positioned to maximise the views.

Outside, comfortable outdoor furniture and a cedar wood-fired hot tub are the perfect places to take in the high country vibe and stargaze

Shortlands Station is the ultimate, peaceful glamping location. Enjoy the tranquil sounds of the creek, the birds, and the unbelievable quiet - with the only interruption being the comforting sound of the odd sheep baaaing nearby.

  • Things to do

Rejuvenate on the property with a soak in the fresh mountain water in the wood-fired cedar hot tub. Enjoy the high country scenery and peaceful surrounds.

Explore the property on foot. Climb the surrounding hills and take in the amazing high country views (although note that walking on the property may be more restricted in lambing season during Oct/Nov). Discover the historic gold tailings and try your hand at gold panning down at the creek.

Bring your mountain bikes! The Naseby area is renowned for its mountain biking tracks and Shortlands is only a 20 min drive to the famous Central Otago Rail Trail.

Naseby itself is just 10km away. You'll find cafes and restaurants along with some fun and novel activities. Give 'curling' or ice skating a go - or get the adrenaline pumping with a go on the Southern Hemisphere's only ice luge.

Testimonials

  • "

Fantastic stay. Often holidays are promoted as 'getting away from it all' – this really was. In saying that, every luxury you needed was provided. We particularly enjoyed the indoor/outdoor shower and would thoroughly recommend staying here to any couple who have a love for peace and quiet (and sheep!).

Even though we are farmers, it was nice to have a change of scenery, and beautiful vistas it was! It was so relaxing, and the big Maniototo sky even put on a fabulous aurora display.
