Nestle Inn

Nestle Inn

Featherston, Wairarapa

Nestle Inn is just 5 minutes from Featherston, 45 minutes from Masterton and 1 hour from Wellington City.

Tucked away in a pine forest on the edge of the Tararua Ranges, a stay in this wooden cabin is like stepping into a fairytale.

Lined with timber and copper, the one-room cabin exudes warmth and comfort. You'll find a cosy queen bed on the mezzanine floor, perfectly snug for a restful night's sleep. On the lower level, a potbelly stove, couch and a small dining table provide everything you need to keep cosy indoors.

Outside, you'll find the kitchen and bathroom facilities. A standalone outdoor, undercover kitchen has everything you need to cook delicious meals. The bathroom facilities are simple but lovely, with an outdoor bath set amongst the trees and a toilet outhouse a few metres behind the cabin.

When you're ready to unwind, take a dip in the outdoor bath, surrounded by the lush Kawakawa undergrowth, Punga ferns and our bushman's friend, Rangiora. Breathe in the aroma of pine - and the magic of this forest setting.

  • your hosts

Phil and his white poodle, Gussy, are your hosts at Nestle Inn.

Eight years ago, Phil and his late wife Alex embarked on a journey that transformed an overgrown wilderness into this hidden gem. Initially, they sought a weekend camping escape from their life on a yacht in Wellington. However, after a memorable night of possum serenades in a tent, they swiftly realized the need for a cosy cabin. With the help of loved ones, the cabin was lovingly built into what is now known as 'Nestle Inn.' Today, Nestle Inn is not just a cabin; it's a testament to Phil and Alex's love for nature and hospitality. Gussy the poodle will also occasionally check in to ensure all is well.

A portion of the funds from your stay will be donated in Alex's memory to her chosen charity, the SPCA.
