Boho Bach

Boho Bach

Karaka Bay, Wellington

Less than 10 minutes from Wellington airport and 20 minutes from the city centre, Boho Bach is a little oasis right in the middle of Karaka Bay, one of Wellington's most prestigious suburbs.

A steep winding bush path from a quiet suburban street takes you up, through the bush and opens out to a clearing with a little, old fashioned 1950s bach perched in prime position. Set on a rare 1.3 acres of land, and surrounded by native plantings, the bach is incredibly quiet and private given its suburban location.

The interior of the bach is quirky and full of personality. Touches of luxury, velvet and silk, are mixed with eclectic, colourful objects - creating a space that gives a true 'boho' vibe.

Enjoy expansive views overlooking Wellington harbour from the bach. You'll see Makora Island, and out to the Orongorongo and Remutaka ranges - often with breath-taking sunrises and sunsets. Soak in the outdoor bath a few steps from the bach and watch the fantails flit and the colour change on the hills.

Whether you're from out-of-town visiting the sites of the city, or you're from Wellington, wanting to escape the rat race, Boho Bach is a truly unique experience - and a tonic for the soul.

This is an incredible place to stay!! The views from the house, the deck, and the outdoor bath are stunning. The aesthetic of the bach is so beautiful, and the whole place was very clean. Being within a short walk to a cute little cafe and the beach was perfect. And Kate was a very sweet and considerate host. If I visit New Zealand again, I will definitely be staying here!

The top reasons I enjoyed my stay were because the Boho Bach was so full of character and charm. It was warm and comfortable, very peaceful and quiet, with a beautiful view, and felt like a sanctuary.

Boho Bach is such a gem! Perfectly situated close to the airport and not far from Wellington city, yet it feels like you're in a whole other world, nestled in the canopy above the sea. I loved the decor and thoughtful touches throughout the place. Having the option between an indoor or outdoor bath is really lovely when the weather is a bit too stormy outside. It's the perfect place to cosy up with a loved one and relax. A big bonus is being able to bring your fur baby!

The hosts were very accommodating, as we had asked for a particular duration of stay. The quirkiness and history of this bach, along with the presentation, were wonderful. The outdoor bath with the view of the Wellington Harbour heads is stunning.

Awesome view of the bay and beautiful bird songs. Quaint little cottage, unique and homely, with an inviting vibe. Serene, yet close to town with lots to explore. Our pups loved it too and enjoyed the tiny forest walk with fairy lights.
