The Elevated Rest

The Elevated Rest

New Plymouth, Taranaki

The Elevated Rest sits just 15 minutes from New Plymouth city and two hours from Whanganui.

Set amongst the rolling farmland hills of Taranaki, the cabin enjoys sweeping views of both the sea and Mount Taranaki. Take in stunning sunsets over the ocean, along with clear views of local landmarks, including Paritutu Rock and the Sugar Loaf Islands. In the surrounding paddocks, cows can often be seen grazing in the distance, adding to the authentic rural atmosphere.

Inside, the cabin has been thoughtfully designed with luxury furnishings and large windows that frame the ever-changing landscapes and sunsets. The queen bed is dressed in 100% linen and bamboo sheets, and a beautifully appointed ensuite sits just off the room. Outside, a stone bath tub invites you to soak beneath the open sky.

The surroundings are peaceful and private, with open green farmland, coastal views and ever-changing skies, all best enjoyed on the farm walk across the property. Frequent visits from native tūī add to the experience, their birdsong often heard throughout the day.

Your Hosts

YOUR HOSTS

Your hosts at The Elevated Rest are Natasha and Brenden.

Natasha and Brenden have three children, Micah, Joby and Keeva, four dogs, Murphy, Harvey, Hank and Ottie, and a cat named Tussy. They have owned the property for 15 years, first using it as a runoff block for their dairy farm alongside a hobby mob of Wiltshire sheep and Wagyu cattle. Eight years ago they built their family home here, won over by the rolling farmland, the sense of space and the sweeping 360-degree views of Mount Taranaki and the Tasman Sea.

A warm family of foodies who love to entertain, they have hosted weddings, celebrations and gatherings here over the years, and bring a real background in hospitality from their time running a luxury lodge under the mountain. What they treasure most is the outlook and the atmosphere, the peacefulness, the sunsets and the changing weather rolling across the landscape, and they look forward to sharing a little slice of it with you.
