Fable Hills is located just one hour from the heart of Auckland.

The architecturally designed cabin is expertly crafted and imbued with luxury, sitting high in the Clevedon Hills amidst a landscape of ever-changing colour and light. From this elevated position, enjoy sweeping valley views, with distant glimpses of the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Tasman Sea to the west, and the Auckland skyline in the distance.

Step inside to a warm, timber-lined interior where thoughtful design is evident in every detail. The king-size bed with soft linens takes centre stage, framed by expansive windows that blur the line between indoors and out.

Plush robes, candles, yoga mats, indoor and outdoor games, and free WiFi are just some of the thoughtful touches designed to help you slow down and unwind.

A kitchenette, woodburner, dining space and bathroom complete the cabin.

Outside, you'll find a firepit and BBQ, along with a clawfoot bathtub tucked amongst the native plantings, inviting you to dine beneath the stars, unwind, and let your worries drift away.

EATING AND DRINKING

Fable Hills is self-catering. Just bring your own food and drink, and cook meals using the single gas hob inside, the Smokelis firepit with a cooking ring, or the Weber Baby Q. You'll find all the cutlery, crockery, pots and pans that you'll need.

For something a bit special, add the Delight Me Platter when you book, featuring local favourites including Clevedon Buffalo cheese, crackers, salmon, cured meats, olives, pickles, and relishes.

Fable Hills sits just 5 minutes from Hūnua and 10 minutes from Clevedon, both offering lovely cafes and restaurants to explore during your stay. If you're around on a Sunday morning, the Clevedon Farmers Market is well worth the trip and is widely regarded as the best in the wider Auckland region.

The nearest store for stocking up on food and supplies is Hūnua Village, just 7 minutes away, with a general country store, dairy and a bottle shop. Clevedon Superette is 10 minutes away, and full supermarkets can be found in Papakura, around 20 minutes from the cabin.

THINGS TO DO

Wander the property on quiet walks, picnic beneath the sky, or sink into the outdoor bath surrounded by tussock, soaking in the peaceful sounds of the many fantails that call this place home.

For a special occasion, add an arrangement when you book. The Celebrate Me Duo includes chilled Moët & Chandon champagne and a mini celebration cake, while Treat Me Flowers features a fresh arrangement from local florist Wren and Willow.

As evening falls, gather around the fire pit for cornhole, relax on the 'glamswags' cushions with a picnic hamper, or unwind indoors with books, puzzles, yoga mats, candles, and the Bluetooth speaker. On cooler evenings, cosy up by the indoor wood-burning fire.

Explore the Wairoa Valley with walks including the Hūnua Ranges and Duder Regional Park, or enjoy the Hūnua Traverse for mountain biking. YOUR HOSTS

Your hosts at Fable Hills are Laura and William.

Laura and William have two children, Scarlett and Jackson, along with Pepper, their old fox-red Labrador, Twiggy, a salt and pepper Schnauzer-Terrier cross, and their black cat, Miney.

The family built their home here 10 years ago, drawn to the area's rural charm after falling in love with Clevedon during a visit to the Polo Open. By day, Laura and William run WG de Gruchy Construction, a high-end residential building business in Auckland, alongside managing their 30-acre property and flock of sheep. After experiencing glamping themselves, they knew their land would be perfect for it.

The name Fable Hills was inspired by an audiobook series the family loved listening to on school runs.
