End the day by watching the stars twinkle and come to life with a glass of wine in hand.

  • Your Hosts

Simon, Carolyn and their pet cat Kumara are your hosts at French Peak Wagon.

Simon and Carolyn purchased French Peak in 2021 while living in Singapore. They finally made the move to New Zealand in May 2022, once borders were opened.

The couple love Banks Peninsula - and wine! They had been looking for a joint project. French Peak, with its wagon and barn accommodation, as well as its vineyard and cellar door fitted the bill perfectly.

The greenery, sea and hill views, birds, vineyards and super-friendly people are just some of the things they enjoy about living in this beautiful part of the world. They're looking forward to welcoming guests to enjoy it with them!

It was perfect! Relaxing. The wagon is amazing and such a treat. Hosts, Simon and Carolyn, were superb and made everything nice and easy for us. They made us feel like royalty. Wine, cheese, and crackers were waiting for us in the wagon, and wine tastings on both days. Fabulous way to spend a relaxing weekend. We will be returning! Highly recommend.

Firstly, what an incredible little location, overlooking the most picturesque scenery of Akaroa. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly; it felt more like family than anything. The vineyard and cellar door were an unexpected bonus, and we enjoyed learning about the wine and the impact the dormant volcanoes had on the soil characteristics. Amazing people, beautiful place to relax and unwind in peace. Couldn't recommend them more.

We had the most wonderful stay in the wagon. Carolyn and Simon. our hosts, were very friendly and welcoming. The wagon was truly like no place we’ve stayed before. Set on the edge of the vineyard with amazing views. Carolyn and Simon even treated us to a complimentary wine tasting. Such a lovely little getaway!

We had the absolute best time here at French Peak Wagon. Peter was very hospitable and went above and beyond to cater for our needs, including a complimentary wine tasting. We loved the setting and were invited to enjoy the grounds of the vineyard. If you are looking for a unique experience, this is the place for you. The Wagon and facilities were spotlessly clean and we will be back again!
