The Grange

The Grange

Canterbury

The Grange is just 5 minutes from the township of Oxford and only 45 minutes from Christchurch City.

Set high on a large farm - the escape offers a stunning view of the Canterbury Plains, stretching to Christchurch and Banks Peninsula on a clear day, with the ocean and Main Divide Mountains in sight.

The cabin contains a bedroom, open-plan living and kitchen area and a bathroom. With a comfortable sofa set opposite a large bifold door - and plenty of large windows throughout - the entire space offers expansive views of the surroundings wherever you are.

A small porch at the front of the cabin has two perfectly positioned chairs to sit and enjoy the vista in the sunshine with your morning coffee. Twin outdoor baths are the ideal place to soak up the evening vibes. In winter, a wood burner adds atmosphere and warmth.

Patches of bush are dotted around - home to native birds such as Kererū and Bellbirds. If you are fortunate, you may catch a glimpse of graceful fallow deer and their fawns grazing along the fringes of the nearby scrub.

On a cloudless night, the views are phenomenal. With minimal light pollution, The Grange is the perfect destination for keen stargazers.

Peaceful and calm, The Grange is a true escape. Somewhere to relax, unplug and reconnect.

  • Your hosts

Your hosts at The Grange are Genna, Alistair, and their children, Milly and Georgia.

This family have lived on the property since 2014, carrying on a legacy that dates back to the 1800s. Genna and Alistair's deep roots in farming, and growing up on sheep and beef farms, drew them to this diverse landscape. We loved our night at The Grange. It was so special driving through the farm, past the new lambs and calves! The views were absolutely spectacular, and we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub while the sun set. Such a nice, short drive from Christchurch, which made it an easy getaway for the night. Thanks again!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Grange, a picturesque glamping hut that exceeded all my expectations. Nestled in the countryside at the top of a hill, the location offers a perfect blend of tranquillity and nature while still being easily accessible. The Grange is an excellent getaway for anyone looking to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature without sacrificing comfort. I would highly recommend it and can’t wait to return.

Gemma and Alistair were such warm and welcoming hosts. They greeted us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome. The house is absolutely beautiful, has everything you need for the stay, and the views are just divine. All we needed to worry about was bringing our own food; everything else was provided. The outdoor baths are perfect for relaxing under the stars, and the privacy is next level. We loved our stay so much here; we will definitely be back again. Thank you so much to the lovely hosts.

Amazing place to stay that's super private. The views are amazing, especially on a clear day. Bonus points for having two bathtubs, which felt like his and hers. We loved The Grange and would definitely come back again if we happen to visit the area again.
