  • your hosts

Your hosts at Old Coach Cabin are John, Paula, and Tiggi the cat.

For nearly fifty years, the Kempthorne family has lovingly tended to this property, preserving it for generations to come. Nestled amidst native bush, John and Paula find solace in its tranquil embrace, a respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Formerly an anesthetist and a nurse, John and Paula have retired from healthcare. With nine years of experience in the hospitality industry and a genuine passion for it, they felt it was time to create a glamping escape of their own, eager to share their beautiful property with others.

The cabin is named after the Old Coach Road, which was originally the historic road linking Whitianga to Coromandel by horse and coach.
