  • eating and drinking

Streamside is self-catering. Just bring your own food and drink, and cook meals using the double-burner gas cooktop provided in the covered outdoor kitchen area.

If you want a break from cooking at any stage, Akaroa is just a 5-minute drive away, and you'll have plenty to choose from there. Your hosts, Sue and David, recommend trying the Mandala Restaurant and Bully Hayes.

The closest place for supplies is the 4-Square in Akaroa.

  • things to do

Streamside is close to the action for people wanting to visit the sights of Akaroa but far away from the hustle and bustle. Your visit can be as action-packed or as relaxing as you choose.

Just a 5-minute drive away, Akaroa offers shops, cafes, and restaurants. There are also lots of activities, such as kayaking and swimming with dolphins.

For those who wish to relax and enjoy time at the cabin, savour a sunset soak in the outdoor bath followed by a good board or card game. Make sure you bring a good book—and just take the chance to relax.

  • your hosts

Your hosts at Streamside are Sue and David, and their furry companion – Beaudy the black labrador.

Sue and David have had a remarkable 35-year history on this land. The property was once a deer farm with a quaint cottage, and prior to that, a dairy farm. Now in retirement, they savour the serene beauty of the lush surroundings and the captivating Hills Harbour.

Sue and David extend a warm welcome, inviting you to relish your stay at Streamside, or their other glamping accommodation Manuka Hut.
