Wakelins Station

Wakelins Station

Haruru, Northland

Wakelins Station is located near the Bay of Islands, 10 minutes from Waitangi and Paihia.

Set on rolling farmland, the accommodation is made up of three cosy cabins connected by a spacious deck. Two separate bedroom cabins each have a queen-size bed, while the central cabin houses the kitchen and bathroom, meaning everything is only a few steps apart.

The cabins sit beside a beautiful waterfall, with native bush behind them and the sound of flowing water and birdsong ever present. From the deck, expansive views stretch across rolling farmland towards the cattle yards, offering a glimpse into everyday life on the station.

The outdoor space is a real highlight, with a sunken seating area creating a relaxed spot to gather over a drink or watch the hills glow at golden hour. A short walk down a path leads to a private nook, tucked away for evenings spent by the fire.

Despite the secluded rural setting, the coast is never far away, giving you the best of farm life, nature and the Bay of Islands all in one stay.

YOUR HOSTS

Your hosts at Wakelins Station are Sarah and Mack.

Mack’s family has owned the farm for more than a decade, and together they enjoy the rural lifestyle, strong local community and having the beach right on their doorstep. The farm is home to a mix of livestock, including sheep, beef cattle and deer.

Sarah first discovered Canopy Camping while staying at one of our escapes with friends, and she instantly fell in love with the concept. With her love of hosting and Mack's passion for farming and sharing what he knows, creating a stay of their own felt like a natural next step.

The name simply reflects their cosy little cottages set on the family farm.
