  • your hosts

Watercliff is a family-owned business operated by Josh and Delia Harris and their son Lowen (who loves to dig as much as any toddler).

Like most love stories, Watercliff began with a chance encounter; between Josh (recent civil engineer graduate) and Delia (a principal ballet dancer with Birmingham Royal Ballet). Their shared love of the outdoors and exploring new adventures quickly turned into an off-the-grid farm wedding in the UK, and the beginning of an idea for a family-operated business in Delia’s New Zealand hometown.

They returned to New Zealand where they could be close to family and raise Lowen on the family land, while creating something special for others to enjoy. Watercliff was created with the intent to take care of people, property, and the planet. A place to be kind and warm, to always tread lightly but focus on making an impact.

Watercliff includes four gorgeous eco-friendly cabins - The ViewThe NestThe Getaway and the family-friendly cabin, The Hangout.

  • "

Absolutely stunning setting, and the cabin was just gorgeous! Of all the activities we did and all the places we visited in Tauranga and Mt. Maunganui, this cabin, the bunks, and the river were all three of our kids' favourite parts of the whole trip! It was wonderful to disconnect from the world and recharge with nature—truly being able to stop, take your shoes off, feel the ground underfoot, look at each other’s happy faces, and enjoy such special family time.

A piece of paradise close to Tauranga—only a 15-minute drive, and you become part of nature in an off-grid facility, nestled among native fauna and flora and next to the Omanawa River. Spectacular views, hiking trails, kayaking on the river, and birds singing. The well-equipped kitchen and outside BBQ on the patio were perfect. We will definitely book again.
