Watercliff - The View

Watercliff - The View

Tauranga, Bay of Plenty

Watercliff is located along the banks of the Omanawa River, a 20-minute drive from Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty region. Start your journey with a welcoming 1km drive by your hosts along the river to reach your cabin in the Watercliff Jimny.

Watercliff includes four luxurious and comfortable, self-contained and eco-friendly cabins. This cabin, known as 'The View' is ideal for couples. The stylish, restful interior consists of a kitchenette, a modern bathroom and a living space with a queen-size bed. Outdoors you’ll find a large semi-covered deck with lounge chairs, a dining area and a BBQ. An outdoor bathtub is also set on the deck - the best way to soak up the beautiful views of the Omanawa River and dramatic cliffs.

In the morning, open your automatic blinds to reveal the picturesque sunrise without leaving your bed. Once you're up, enjoy a stroll down the path through the native bush to a small waterfall, swimming hole and secluded beach along the riverbank.

The seclusion of the site and its location in the beautiful native bush is peaceful and serene. Feel your worries fade away as you explore, relax and reconnect with each other - and the natural world around you.

Watercliffs other cabins are the couples cabins, The Nest and The Getaway - as well as the family-friendly cabin, The Hangout.

  • your hosts

Watercliff is a family-owned business operated by Josh and Delia Harris and their son Lowen (who loves to dig as much as any toddler).

Like most love stories, Watercliff began with a chance encounter; between Josh (recent civil engineer graduate) and Delia (a principal ballet dancer with Birmingham Royal Ballet). Their shared love of the outdoors and exploring new adventures quickly turned into an off-the-grid farm wedding in the UK, and the beginning of an idea for a family-operated business in Delia’s New Zealand hometown.

They returned to New Zealand where they could be close to family and raise Lowen on the family land, while creating something special for others to enjoy. Watercliff was created with the intent to take care of people, property, and the planet. A place to be kind and warm, to always tread lightly but focus on making an impact.

Watercliff includes four gorgeous eco-friendly cabins - The View, The Nest, The Getaway and the family-friendly cabin, The Hangout.

From beginning to end, the communication was fantastic. When we went to our cabin, and the journey to our cabin, was amazing. We saw glow worms along the trail to our cabin. They have four cabins and I booked "The View." It sure lives up to its name, with a view from sunrise to sunset. Opening your blinds while in bed to be presented with the view of trees and the sound of birds. The history of the land and the walk to your car. It's just so humble, tranquil, and offers such peace and quiet to refresh yourself before reality kicks back in.
